Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who we are
TradeChecker ("we", "us") is operated by [YOUR NAME] (Sole trader), trading in United Kingdom. You can reach us at [YOUR EMAIL].
2. What the service is
We produce a plain-English "trade-safety" report on a UK company, assembled from free, official public data: Companies House, The Gazette and the UK insolvency and disqualified-director registers, published under the Open Government Licence. A report summarises that public record and gives our opinion as a traffic-light verdict (trade, caution or avoid) with the reasons behind it.
3. What the service is not
- We are not a credit reference agency and we do not carry out credit scoring regulated by the FCA.
- Our verdict is guidance, not financial, legal or investment advice. It is one input into your own decision, which remains yours.
- We rely on third-party public data. We present it faithfully but we cannot guarantee it is complete, current or error-free, and we are not responsible for errors in the source records.
4. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any applicable tax. A single report is £3.49; a three-report pack is £7.99; the Unlimited plan is £15 per month and requires an account. Payment is taken securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. The Unlimited plan renews automatically each month until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period.
5. Delivery and your right to cancel
Reports are digital content delivered instantly online. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you would normally have 14 days to cancel, but for instant digital content you can ask us to begin delivery immediately and, if you do, you lose that cancellation right once the report is unlocked. At checkout you are asked to consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge this. See our Refund policy for the full detail, including the faults and duplicate-charge exceptions we always honour.
6. Acceptable use
You may use reports for your own legitimate business due diligence. You must not use the service to harass any individual, and you must comply with data-protection law when handling any personal data contained in a report (for example, director information from the public register).
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the report(s) or subscription period the claim relates to. We are not liable for business losses arising from a decision you make based on a report; the decision to trade, or not, is yours.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date shows when. For anything at all, email [YOUR EMAIL]. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
